Kali Linux Unable To Locate Package Could not open lock file Problem Unlinking the file 2020 Fix edit sources list file

 

In This Tutorial We are going to fix Kali linux update error " Unable To Locate Package" "Could not open lock file" This error occurs generally due to the repository error sources.list file is blank.

to fix this issue follow these steps 1- Open terminal LCtrl+Alt+T

2- sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list

3- paste these two entires in sources.list file

deb http://http.kali.org/kali kali-rolling main non-free contrib

deb-src http://http.kali.org/kali kali-rolling main non-free contrib

4- LCtrl+O and then press enter to save file
5- LCtrl+X To Exit

Now you can update or install softwares .
